Assassination of Christian Federal Minister of Minorities affair, Martyr Shahbaz Bhatti
As you all know we have had a team serving food to persecuted Christians and people displaced due to the flooding. We recently received the following update from that team exemplifying how dangerous it is to be a Christian believer serving other Christians in Paksistan.
Federal minister of minorities’ affair Mr. Shahbaz Bhatti was assassinated by some extremist.
Mr. Shahbaz Bhatti was a bold, brave and fearless Christian Politician who was fighting for the cause of Christian rights in Pakistan. He was the only Christian voice on Government level that According an eye witnesses was going for the cabinet meeting called by the Prime Minister. He set out from her mother’s home after enquiring of her health. While he was on the way, a white car Mehran appeared and intercepted his way and three had his say. Shooters came out of the car and started shooting at Federal Minister Mr. Shahbaz Bhatti who was sitting in the back he was hit of about 25 bullets and gave his life at the spot but the driver was spared alive fortunately. Killers threw some pamphlets there after killing that carries the message from the killer, “Every Blasphemer Deserves Such Death” ... More

A little bit of Breedlove goes a long way
From Texas to Tanzania the concept of malnutrition is the same. The difference lies, not in how it is defined, but by how many experience it.
However, with the help of American farmers and the innovation of a non-profit organization, the gap between Texas and Tanzania is about to get a whole lot smaller.
By definition, malnutrition is what occurs when a person is not getting some or all of the nutritional elements that are necessary for human health. Unfortunately however, malnutrition and its consequences are not confined to this finite definition.
There are varying degrees of malnourishment. The different symptoms require different nutrients to combat them, so, while curing micronutrient deficiency (vitamin and mineral) has been a major focus of humanitarian work, a far more dangerous form of malnourishment, protein and calorie deficiency, has gone largely unchallenged.
Until now.

A week in Haiti
Traveling with Operation Hope, I rececently spent a week in Montouis, Haiti visiting a new partner, New Vision Ministries. Through the recent campaign Our Community Serving Theirs Breedlove Foods organized West Texas Schools to raise over $17,000. Breedlove wanted me the opportunity to know the people we have been working to serve, so this is a full report of everything I saw and felt while in Haiti.

Nation of Haiti out of Hope
The distress of Haiti is hopelessness. (The emotion of the people seemed to be hopelessness. The situation is anything but hopeless if we unite together. -Colton)
Colton Carthel of Breedlove Foods heard of a kind of mom-and-pop mission to Haiti, and did what he could to help its originators on the ground in Haiti.
In the process, he witnessed the utter chaos of a nation without hope.
According to Carthel, Kerry and Joy Reeves (blog) sold everything — their successful optometry practice in North Carolina included — then named their ministry New Vision Ministries (website), and moved with six of their seven children to Haiti to minister to the people there.
Carthel (of Breedlove Foods) helped by raising funds through a campaign called Our Community Serving Theirs to get the dehydrated products processed by Breedlove Foods to the ministry. A 40-foot container of dehydrated food that provides a million meals costs $50,000, and thousands more — depending on highly variable costs — to get it through customs at Haiti.

Breedlove Food Distribution Among Widows and Needy Women
We received the following report along with several photo albums of distribution pictures from the Director of EIM in Pakistan.
"Religion that God our Father accepts as pure and faultless is this: to look after orphans and widows in their distress and to keep oneself from being polluted by the world." James 1:27
Following the word of God, we arranged meetings and called widows this month of December to support the widows for a Christmas season with the Breedlove food so that they can feed the children. It was such an awesome time to see the smile on their faces getting this food stuff. They were very happy and said thanks to EIM and Breedlove food on their sympathetic and loving step to donate this food.

Devastations by Floods in Pakistan
We received the following report along with several photo albums of distribution pictures from the Director of EIM in Pakistan.
"He who gives to the poor will lack nothing, but he who closes his eyes to them receives many
curses." Proverbs 28:27Pakistan encountered one of the worst natural disasters in its history in the shape of devastating floods. More than 20 million Pakistanis were affected by this catastrophe. One out of every nine Pakistanis has been affected. One fifth of the country is submerged; millions are without shelter, food and other items of basic survival. The damage to infrastructure, land not to mention hundreds of lives lost makes this calamity bigger than the 2004 Tsunami, 2005 Kashmir Earthquake and the 2010 Haiti Earthquake combined. So in such a worst condition what people needed most was to provide them food for their survival. And thanks God by the efforts of EIM leadership; God made it possible to meet the needs of the needy. EIM Partnered with Breedlove Foods and sent a 40 foot food container of dehydrated vegetable blend to Pakistan. We here in Pakistan distributed this food among the needy, and flood hit people and thanks God with Breedlove food thousands have been fed and still distribution is going.

Hearts of Gold Feeding the World
As the world’s population increases, we are faced with difficult problems. One of the most pressing problems is world hunger, and we face it every day. Our mission at Breedlove Foods Inc. is very simple; feed the world. As an employee I work as one of a small group running operations and packaging. This story is about the big hearts of our team, serving to do our part.
This small group of men and women is made up of amazing individuals. We are not perfect. We
deal with home issues, medical issues, and various other situations. Yet we come together, set
aside our personal agendas, roll up our sleeves, and go to work. Occasionally disagreements
and problems occur, but we manage to unite and press forward.

Listeria Certified
Friday, November 19, Breedlove’s Quality Assurance capabilities were taken to a new level when Mark Griffith (left), Rosie Marquez (right), and Blanca Perez (center) completed technical training on the RapidChek SELECT Listeria Test System.
“Listeria is a family of bacteria and some species are pathogenic, meaning it causes illness and possibly death,” says Griffith. “It probably wouldn’t harm anyone with a healthy immune system, but it could be lethal to infants, the elderly, and others with a weakened immune system including an unborn child.”
That is because Listeria are known to be the bacteria responsible for listeriosis, a rare but potentially lethal food-borne infection: the case fatality rate for those with a severe form of infection may approach 25% (Salmonella, in comparison, has a mortality rate estimated at less than 1%).
One of the new VitaNut-Pro products is geared toward infants and children while another is geared toward pregnant and lactating women. So the ability for Breedlove Foods to perform Listeria testing was crucial as we near a perfected formula.
Congratulation to Mark, Rosie and Blanca for receiving this certification!

The Communicator - Issue 2
Testimonials from COMEDEV
As you all know, Breedlove Foods equips other organizations with food and they, in turn distribute it to the hungry and impoverished. One of the organizations we equip is Legacy World Missions, a faith-based organization providing food to the homeless children of Uganda, Africa.
Let me briefly map out the full process so that you can see how your individual efforts help complete the big picture. Farmers and other manufacturers provide Breedlove with the ingredients we use to make our food. We then manufacture the food, pass it to Legacy World Missions, and they deliver it to the children’s homes in Uganda where the children will be fed.
Recently I received an email from one of the children’s homes, and I wanted to summarize its contents for all of you.
Elder Geesa Franklin, Chief Director of COMEDEV-International, said that her children “found Breedlove food very delicious.” She explains that the food is easy to digest and very simple to prepare. Most importantly her children’s health had excellent improvement; the children are continuously “gaining weight, and growing noticeably.” She also notes that there has been a reduction in illnesses.

Annual family fun event featured obstacle courses, safety tips and candy
The sixth annual Halloween Family Fun Fest at Lubbock Memorial Civic Center had obstacle courses, safety tips and enough candy to fill the bags of more than 6,000 people who attended.
Costumes ranging from Ironman to zombies adorned the masses of children as they shuffled in lines waiting to enter the center and fill their bags with candy.
Joseph Casas, 10, said he has been to the event every year and his eyes lit up as he mentioned his favorite reason for coming — the candy.
Scott Carlin, associate pastor of family life at First Baptist Church and event organizer, said the event is hosted by the church and was originally put on in their parking lot as a way for parents to take their children to trick or treat safely.
He said Fun Fest grows every year, and this year the church expanded the event to include a safety aspect.

VitaNut-Pro is nearly ready to go!!!
On Thursday, Breedlove Foods mixed and packaged the very first samples of the new RUF paste product, VitaNut-Pro using the newly installed equipment. This was only a test run of the production line to help our crew of experts know what tweaks and adjustments still need to be made. While this was not the official first run of the product, it was still exciting to see a handful of the product in the actual packaging. It looked good and tasted even better! We’ll keep you posted as the date of the official first production run draws nearer. It will be a big event here at Breedlove!

The sixth grade fought hard, but the upper classman wouldn't allow the prize to go easily and sabbotaged all of the sixth grade efforts. In the end, the eighth grade won a field trip to Breedlove Foods facilities.
Total Shallowater Middle School raised $1,131.89 potentially feeding 22,637 meals in Haiti! Thank you Shallowater

Floydada ISD participates in Our Community Serving Theirs
From Monday, September 27th through Friday, October 1st, the students and faculty of Floydada ISD participated in “Our Community Serving Theirs” for the victims of Haiti.
Various activities in each school helped to raise over $1,600. Students paid to participate in activities such as hat day, pajama day, no-make-up-or-pay day, and un-tucked shirt day. The schools also had a competition between the Elementary School and Jr. High School by selling paper chain links to hang from the school ceiling. In addition to the special events, coins were collected each day from students and faculty. Floydada High School (top) raised $503.97, Floydada Jr. High School (middle) raised $580.16 and A.B. Duncan Elementary (bottom) raised $490.93 for a grand total of $1,667.13.
We want to give a big thanks to Kendra Covington for organizing the Floydada community in order to feed 33,342 meals in Haiti!

Our Community Serving Theirs Summary
During the last year multiple schools and organizations raised money for Breedlove Foods dedicated to providing desperately needed food for Haiti relief. Each group’s individual efforts made an enormous difference in the lives of thousands of people. Out of that success was birthed the following idea.
What if we could get all of the schools and organizations in West Texas to be a part of one unified fundraiser at the same time, with the proceeds designated to one specific Haitian community? The combined efforts of such a campaign would be phenomenal, effecting change in that community for future generations!
Breedlove has organized the West Texas community to participate in fundraisers during a single two-week period from September 20 to October 1.

Follow Up from Post on August 10: Email from Canaan Children's Home to Legacy World Missions regarding Breedlove food.
This is a perfect example of how we are equipping our partners with the tools necessary to fulfill their calling and serve the hungry.
Greetings in the name of our lord and savior,
Without Legacy, many orphaned children in the Jinja area would not have food. You and momma Kathy have so richly blessed us. The children pray for you and ask when you will return.
I hope you are fine and well in the Lord. As Cannan children's home we would like to extend our appreciation for all that you have done to see to it that the food gets to Canaan children's home.
Thank you so much for the food, we received the food on Sunday and also took it to the places that it needed to get to. We are so grateful for all that you are doing. May the mighty God richly bless you.
I have attached pictures of how the food got to Canaan we shall send you more pictures when it is being cooked and when the children are having their meals.
Thank you so much for all.
In Him,
Pastor Isaac.

VitaNut-Pro Update
The production of Vita-Nut Pro will possibly be underway in anywhere from four to eight weeks, but depending on several factors, the wait could extend to 16 weeks.
Grants have been awarded to fully fund the Vita-Nut Pro project, and all of the equipment required for production is currently here, including the ingredients. The wait is dependent on the electric, plumbing, and the waste interceptor, which must comply with city code and will require an inspection. In addition, the packaging film has yet to arrive, which is a major factor that could cause the start-up date back to be pushed back several more weeks.
Vita-Nut Pro will begin production as soon as all of the required factors are in order. Until that time, gifts are always very much welcomed and appreciated to assist with expenses that are encountered.

Breedlove Sends Over 500,000 Servings to Mexico
The week of July 12 was a busy one for Breedlove – 510,500 servings of food were sent to the state of Nuevo León in Mexico.

Dehydration Defined
Dehydration is a process where water is removed from a product. Water is removed until microbiological life cannot sustain itself. At that point the product is said to be preserved. If microbiological life cannot exist on the product, then the product may be safely stored for long periods of time.
To accomplish dehydration requires two parameters. The first is heat so the water may change from a liquid to a gas. This occurs at the surface of the product. The second is air flow so the gaseous water molecules may be carried away from the product. When you think of dehydration, think about heat and air flow. more...

Professor helps Haiti earthquake survivors
Although many have chosen to help survivors of the Haiti earthquake by visiting the country or donating money to the cause, one Texas Tech professor is helping in a unique way.

Burris said she was contacted by the non-profit organization Breedlove to translate their dehydrated food bags to send to Haiti. She wanted to participate in the Haiti operation but did not know how she could help.
“If a company takes the time to put a foreign translation on it, then whoever picks that up that reads that language can use that product effectively,” Burrus said. more...

Store 2 Door - Home grocery delivery service in Lubbock TX - Get your groceries delivered
Store 2 Door is a home grocery delivery service in Lubbock TX. Simply put, you send us your grocery list either by email, our Groceries Delivery Form, or by whatever means is most convenient. Store 2 Door then buys your groceries and delivers them to your home. Upon home delivery you pay us the price of your receipt plus a grocery delivery service charge.
Grocery delivery service charge: Store 2 Door has a $20 grocery delivery service charge for groceries totaling under $150 and a $30 service charge for grocery totals over $150.
The Store 2 Door Family:
We are a God-fearing family committed to serving the Lord in everything we do and everything we are because He first loved us. We live in righteousness because we have been saved through our faith that Jesus Christ is the Son of God and the redeemer of the world.
Store 2 Door is the byproduct of the blessings and talents God has entrusted to us, and the choice to invest them so they will multiply. (See Matthew 25:14-30; The Parable of the Talents)
We would have never expected those blessings and talents would manifest into a home grocery delivery service, but God likes to keep us on our toes, so he has rarely delivered us what we expect.

In memory of Mary Louise Breedlove Kingsbery
Mary Louise Kingsbery, a passionate supporter of Breedlove, died March 30th at the age of 84. Mary Louise's life and actions exemplify the essence of loving others. Sixteen years ago her selfless gift of property on which to build a food processing plant to benefit the most needy among us was the catalyst, which launched Breedlove Foods.
The seed she planted became reality in 1994 when the plant opened and began processing unmarketbale vegetables for use in hunger relief efforts. more...

David Fish in Haiti
Breedlove CEO, David Fish toured the devastated areas of Haiti and was able to personally assess the damage and determine how we would respond long-term. Within the next weeks, we will ship an additional roughly five million servings of food.
This is what David Fish wrote while in Haiti:
I spent the past two days in Pedernales DR on the southern border with Haiti with Matt Kryston of RPX, one of our partners here. There was no damage to the area although the small Haitian town across the border has seen a significant inflow of people displaced from towns further down the southern coast which were devestated, and for which little help has reportedly arrived. more...
