A week in Haiti
Traveling with Operation Hope, I rececently spent a week in Montouis, Haiti visiting a new partner, New Vision Ministries. Through the recent campaign Our Community Serving Theirs Breedlove Foods organized West Texas Schools to raise over $17,000. Breedlove wanted me the opportunity to know the people we have been working to serve, so this is a full report of everything I saw and felt while in Haiti.

Breedlove's CEO returns from 10 day trip to Haiti...
(Video available for viewing) Breedlove's CEO, David Fish recently returned from his 10 day trip to Haiti. On Monday, March 8th the local news media attended a press conference at Breedlove's facilities in Lubbock, Texas where Fish reported his findings from a first-hand perspective.

David Fish in Haiti
Breedlove CEO, David Fish toured the devastated areas of Haiti and was able to personally assess the damage and determine how we would respond long-term. Within the next weeks, we will ship an additional roughly five million servings of food.
This is what David Fish wrote while in Haiti:
I spent the past two days in Pedernales DR on the southern border with Haiti with Matt Kryston of RPX, one of our partners here. There was no damage to the area although the small Haitian town across the border has seen a significant inflow of people displaced from towns further down the southern coast which were devestated, and for which little help has reportedly arrived. more...

Breedlove CEO takes trip to Haiti to personally witness food distribution, etc... 
Breedlove’s CEO, David Fish departed on today for Haiti. He will be meeting up with local representatives of trusted partner organization to witness the devastation and get a first-hand account of the needs. This trip will not only allow him to personally see that the food that Breedlove has shipped to Haiti is being properly handled, but will also allow him to return better able to determine what else Breedlove needs to do.

Nationally recognized group from Illinois visits Breedlove to witness the loading of their container bound for Haiti victims...
Representatives from the University of Illinois National Soybean Research Laboratory and the Illinois Soybean Association visited the Breedlove facilities to meet the local press, and to watch the container of Breedlove food they funded get loaded for shipment. From Lubbock, the food traveled to Miami, and from there will be loaded onto a ship bound for Haiti. This load represents another roughly 1 million servings of food to leave Lubbock's Breedlove Foods in support of the Haiti relief efforts.

Shipments to Haiti ongoing... 
Thanks to the support of many individuals, businesses, churches, and more, Breedlove is continuing to prepare and ship its food for earthquake victims in Haiti. 93,600 servings of food were delivered to Miami on Feb 3, joining up with other relief supplies (medical, etc.) and were airlifted on Feb 4 to Haiti. The organizations International Relief Teams and Haiti Vision are the partner organizations handling these particular loads. Another 43,200 servings of food were delivered to Miami on Feb 3 sponsored by Grace Community Church and to be distributed by Mission Evangelique de la Trinite et de la Nouvelle Vie upon arrival.

Second Shipment Bound for Haiti via Airlift...
The second half of Breedlove's first shipment departed today from Miami by airlift containing 612 cases of food. This food will be used in a cooperative effort by like-minded nonprofit organizations operating in Haiti.

First Half of Breedlove Shipment Arrives Safely in Haiti!

First Truckload of Food to Haiti
Breedlove Foods, Inc. issued its first response today to earthquake victims in PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti.
Utilizing existing, valued relationships with nonprofit organizations that are working together in a cooperative effort, Breedlove shipped a truckload of food yesterday afternoon.
This truckload contains 36 pallets of Breedlove’s Lentil Pro blend. This equates to 44,000 lbs, of the food aid product. Roughly 1 million servings bound for Haiti.
The food was loaded onto an 18-wheeler. Upon arrival in Miami, the load will be split in two and airlifted to Haiti and put into the capable hands of the distributing partners on the ground.
